Bus-surfing

I'm in Malaga, Spain this week. Not for a holiday (honest!) but doing my day-job and networking with some of the world's other network experts - most of them a lot more expert than me.

I'm acutely aware that this means I'm missing this week's Public Transport Liaison meeting, and the chance to complain about Southern Railways about-face on keeping platform gates open... So what I thought I should bring back from Malaga to those who serve us in South London was this picture:… Continue

(no) Perry Vale Councillors Advice Surgery this Saturday, 11th April

As our usual Advice Surgery date of the 2nd Saturday each month falls on Easter Saturday this April, we decided that with people's holiday plans and other Easter activities taking up space in St Georges Church it would be more sensible not to hold a surgery this month.

However if you have an urgent issue to discuss with us or a problem we can help you with, we're all happy for you to contact us in the first instance by email (please copy the message to all 3 of us if you wish and we can decide… Continue

Visit to Dacres Wood Nature Reserve 29/03/08

Today's visit was a great success, with over 80 people, and their adventurous young children, turned up for today's visit. All were suitably impressed and enjoyed their time there. I think the thought of seeing crawly, slimey things encouranged and deterred in equal measure!

'Spam' messages

Several members have received messages from 'Gaynell Blair', not relating to issues in Perry Vale. This is an attempt to use LovePerryVale to distribute 'spam' - and similar attacks have recently happened to other Ning-based networks.

A spammer is able to do this by creating fake members. We decided not to impose a strict approval process for people wanting to join LPV because (we thought) this would be a barrier to participation by residents of Perry Vale. If this problem persists or gets wors… Continue

Parking survey - outline results

Some may remember the consultation about the potential for 'residents-only' parking a while ago - which sparked a bit of a campaign against what some people suspected was an evil Council plot to force parking restrictions on everyone against their will.

As I blogged at the time, Lewisham Council had (and still has) no plans for new parking controls anywhere in Perry Vale ward. But I also predicted that there might be a few roads (nearest to Forest Hill and Catford stations, for in… Continue

Planning Applications in Perry Vale

We can't yet get an automated feed of this from the Council's system, or filter on recent/current applications. (We're working with the IT system supplier on improving this.)

Click on this link (should open in a new browser tab or window), select "Perry Vale" from the Ward Name dropdown, then click the "Search" button.

Below are reports on Planning Applications in Perry Vale scheduled for hearing at Planning Committee meetings:
(Depends on manual tagging, so don't rely on us tagging them all, yet! Note that minor and non-controversial cases will not be heard at a committee.)

Where's Perry Vale???

Hi all Lewisham homes lettable standards - well very much like the Rachman slums of the 50s! lettable standards means damp, mildew, mould, contamination, and if you dont accept their offer, despite asking the letting officer what the connection th...
