Security mirror installed

I think there might be a risk I'm getting a bit too 'hands on'...

After rather a lot of bureaucracy and general faffing about, the security mirror funded by the Local Assembly was finally purchased, and delivered to Bob's house.

Bravely ignoring the suggestion from Council officers that it be…

Changing Council policy, one mattress at a time!

I did a routine bit of casework yesterday, in response to a letter from an elderly lady in Perry Vale, Ethel. She needed a mattress collected by the bulky refuse team; but it was upstairs, and they're only supposed to collect things from outside people's homes. The person on the other end of the Envirocall phone couldn't see a solution to this, and also seems to have told Ethel that she'd have to pay £15 for the collection (and the fact is, the Council will collect mattresses for…

Below are reports on Planning Applications in Perry Vale scheduled for hearing at Planning Committee meetings:

(Depends on manual tagging, so don't rely on us tagging them all, yet! Note that minor and non-controversial cases will not be heard at a committee.)

New lamp posts - Love 'em or hate 'em?

What are LPV members' feelings about the new (black) lamp posts? They are up and alight in about half the roads in Perry Vale now.The main reason the Council has accepted that money needs to be spent on replacing them (throughout all of Lewisham, and in a money-saving joint contract that covers Croydon as well) is that the old (mainly grey, with orange sodium light) lamp posts are beyond their planned life and some may be getting dangerous; and that the new (white) lights will improve road…See More

Publicizing local businesses on LovePerryVale?

How would LPV members feel about a directory service, or even paid advertising, for businesses selling locally?I'm prompted to ask because local web forums as an advertising channel was discussed at a meeting of traders in Forest Hill town centre, organised this week by the Forest Hill Society. Some traders complained that SE23.com had originally been set up partly for this purpose but would not accept any discussion about local business any more.See More
